¿Me recuerdas?
Soy la chica
de la piel oscura
y los zapatos gastados.
Soy la chica
con dientes cariados.
Soy la chica
negra de los dientes podridos
con el ojo herido
y la oreja destrozada.
Soy la chica
que sostiene a sus hijos,
cocina sus comidas,
barre sus patios,
lava sus ropas.
Oscura y pudriéndome
y herida, herida.
Yo daría
a la raza humana
tan sólo esperanza.
Soy la mujer
con la piel oscura bendecida.
Soy la mujer
con los dientes arreglados.
Soy la mujer
con el ojo sanado,
con la oreja que oye.
Soy la mujer: Oscura,
arreglada, curada,
que te escucha.
Yo daría
a la raza humana
tan sólo esperanza.
Soy la mujer
que ofrece dos flores
con raíces gemelas.
Justicia y Esperanza.
Comencemos.

Remember me?
I'm the girl
Dark Skin
and worn shoes.
I'm the girl
with decayed teeth.
I'm the girl
Black rotten teeth
with the injured eye
and ear destroyed.
I'm the girl
holding their children,
cooking meals,
sweep their yards,
wash their clothes.
Dark and rotting
and wound injury.
I would
the human race
only hope.
I am the woman
blessed with dark skin.
I am the woman
with his teeth fixed.
I am the woman
with the eye healed
with the ear that hears.
I am the woman: Dark
fixed, cured,
you listen.
I would
the human race
only hope.
I am the woman
offering two flowers
with twin roots.
Justice and Hope.
Begin.
